The band was back together overnight as Aston Villa’s class of 2019 celebrated the marriage of Conor Hourihane and his new wife. The Republic of Ireland midfielder, who left Villa this summer after five-and-a-half years with the club, wed his long-term partner at a plush ceremony in Mykonos, Greece.

The do was attended by some of Hourihane’s closest teammates and, in particular, those he bonded most with during his time at Villa Park. The likes of John McGinn, Jack Grealish, James Chester, Neil Taylor and former loanee stopper Sam Johnstone were all in attendance.

After the ceremony, the players and their girlfriends all enjoyed a sing-a-long in a big minibus to where the evening reception was taking place which featured a live music band as well as a saxophone player.

Chester’s wife, Rea, has since uploaded a brilliant video of Hourihane being held aloft by his former Villa teammates as the saxist belted out This Girl by Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners, a song synonymous during Hourihane’s time in B6.

Earlier this month, former Villa stars turned out to celebrate the wedding of Henri Lansbury – now playing at Luton Town – and his new wife Natalie out in Ibiza. Also this month, current midfield star Morgan Sanson tied the knot to his childhood sweetheart and mother to his two young children Marie. Sanson, 27, has been on his honeymoon in Los Angeles and, while he’s been away, has been conducting fitness sessions in the US with close friend Matt Pakora, the French singer who’s married to American actress and vocalist Christina Milian.

As for Villa, the bulk of Steven Gerrard’s squad are back in from next week (June 27) onwards with testing and fitness drills on the agenda.
