Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is excited about working with manager Erik ten Hag next season.

The Portuguese made his stunning return to Old Trafford after 12 years last summer. It has been a memorable homecoming season with 24 goals across all competitions.

Despite his efforts, the Red Devilshave fallen short of the Champions League places in the Premier League while suffering early exits in the Cup competitions.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ronaldo highlighted the ‘fantastic job’ done by Ten Hag at Ajax but feels the Dutchman needs to be given time at United.

He added to express his excitement of working with the experienced head coach next term as the club aim to end their ongoing trophy drought for five seasons.

Ronaldo said: “What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time.”

“Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.

“We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well. I wish him the best and let’s believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies.”
