Valencia are set for a tense and uncertain summer ahead as they battle to keep hold of a few of their star players, including Carlos Soler, who has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona in the past.

The club could end up losing a few of their attackers as well, with both Goncalo Guedes and Maxi Gomez likely to move elsewhere at the end of the season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Valencia are currently scouring the market for a new striker who can replace the two attackers next season. In light of their poor economic situation, the club favour a low-cost option, with Martin Braithwaite emerging as a potential candidate.

Valencia are aware of the Dane’s uncertain future at Barcelona as Xavi Hernandez has barely utilised him since his return from a knee injury.

He has featured in only ten minutes of La Liga action since, falling behind Memphis Depay, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and even Luuk de Jong in the pecking order. It has prompted Barcelona to offload him in the summer.

Braithwaite himself could be keen on leaving Camp Nou due to his World Cup ambitions, with the report suggesting his approval for Valencia.

Los Che are currently weighing up their options in the pursuit of Braithwaite. The former Leganes man is said to be available for a fee of just €10 million, but Valencia favour a loan move until the end of next season, potentially with an option to make the move permanent.

Barcelona are unlikely to sanction such a move as it is imperative for the club to offload the Dane permanently.

Braithwaite isn’t the only striker set to depart Camp Nou, with Barcelona also likely to release Luuk de Jong while Memphis Depay will be allowed to leave permanently, as part of the club’s massive overhaul in the attacking unit.
