  1. This is gonna be a mess. What happens when it’s December and Chelsea is tired of paying Giroud on a rolling one month contract to not play while receiving no incoming funds?

    This doesn’t even consider the smaller clubs and their ability to avoid bankruptcy.

  2. But do the players actually have a choice as to refuse? I mean, a player whose contract originally is supposed to end on June 30th can refuse to extend until the season ends…. Right?
