Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has moved to heap praise on interim manager Freddie Ljungberg, on the back of the Gunners’ long-overdue 3-point haul at West Ham.
Arsenal back to winning ways
The north Londoners visited capital rivals West Ham last night, for a Premier League clash.
Both sides headed into proceedings desperate for a victory, amid dismal respective recent spells of form.
Hosts West Ham had notched just a solitary win across their last 10 outings across all competitions before last night.
Arsenal, meanwhile, were winless in 9 fixtures, a run which cost Unai Emery his job 2 weeks ago.
When all was said and done, though, it was the visitors who managed to get things back on track, courtesy of a 3-1 victory.
West Ham actually took the lead in the clash, courtesy of Angelo Ogbonna’s deflected header shortly before the interval.
An absolutely scintillating 10-minute stretch just past the hour-mark, though, saw Arsenal go on to find the net 3 times, to eventually secure all 3 points.
Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were all on target, as the class of the visitors shone through when they needed it most.

‘The real Arsenal’
Arsenal’s win at the London Stadium also came as Freddie Ljungberg’s first, since taking over interim duties at his former club two weeks ago.
Though his side actually struggled over large stretches last night, the Swede was widely-praised for his brave team selection, as well as Arsenal’s bounce-back display following the interval.
And one individual who has today moved to reveal his opinion that, overall, Ljungberg is ‘doing a very good job’, is Bernd Leno.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s official website, the in-form shot-stopper explained:
‘From the first day he [Ljungberg] said he wanted to see laughing faces, to see a good atmosphere.’
‘We had a bad time, we are all human and it is not easy. It was not like we did not try, but it just did not work.’
‘I do not know what the club is deciding. We only have to focus on now.’
‘Freddie is doing a very good job. The team know about his quality and the way they want to play. We want to play with possession, keep the ball and also press very high, and also with transitions.’
‘At half-time [on Monday] Freddie was talking and analysing. He showed us some situations that we needed to be braver. We did this.’
‘It is a good feeling, we all missed the feeling. He was calm but in a very straight way.’
‘It was not like everyone was not trying, but you could feel that we did not play in a free way and he made us more free to play. You could see this more in the second half.’
‘After the second and the third goal you could see how we can play with more confidence. This is the real Arsenal.’
