PSG facing Kylian Mbappe problem as Liverpool and Real Madrid linked with massive transfer | Football | Sport
El Desmarque reported earlier in the week that although Zinedine Zidane is desperate to bring Mbappe to Spain after seeing him impress in Ligue 1, but Liverpool are also reportedly interested in acquiring his services, although that has since been dismissed by Jurgen Klopp
According to L’Equipe, via Marca, PSG know that they could run into trouble if they try and get Mbappe to extend his current deal, which is why that is not their top priority at the moment.
PSG sporting director Leonardo was forced to hit back comments made by Zidane about Mbappe earlier this month, after the Frenchman spoke about a possible move to the Spanish capital.
“It’s annoying,” he said of Zidane‘s comments.
“This isn’t the time to speak about dreams and all of that.
“It has to stop. Mbappe is very important for us and this isn’t the moment to destabilise him.”
The Real boss has since responded to the former Milan manager, and refused to back down.
“That’s all I said, and I’m saying it again today and I would repeat it again everyday.
“I have nothing more to say about Leonardo, I can say whatever I want.”
Back in the summer, Mbappe hinted that his time in France could be coming to an end, but didn’t reiterate his desire to one day play in Spain.
“I think I’m reaching the first or second turning point in my career,” he said in May.
“Maybe it’s time to have more responsibility, which could be at PSG with great pleasure or maybe somewhere else with a new project.”
