Premier League table predicted based on stats: Arsenal and Man Utd fail in top four race | Football | Sport

The Premier League returns for a final weekend before the international break next week, with a host of mouth-watering matches.

The final table has been predicted, based on the season to date, including total wins and defeats, and goals scored and conceded.

After Sheffield United’s terrific start to the season, Chris Wilder’s side have been predicted to finish in fifth place – securing Europa League football as a result.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are tipped to win the Premier League title by four points, with surprise package Leicester City in second place.

The Foxes are predicted to lose just three matches all season, going unbeaten at the King Power Stadium.

Manchester City are six points behind Liverpool, despite scoring 99 league goals throughout the campaign.

Chelsea make up the fourth spot in the Champions League places. Lampard’s side are predicted to finish 19 points behind the top three, but 16 points ahead of Sheffield United in fifth.

Meanwhile, Arsenal once again fail to get back into Europe’s most elite competition by finishing in sixth.

The Gunners are expected to win just twice from away from home all season, and finish above Manchester United on goal difference.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side boast an even worse away record than Arsenal, losing 14 times in the league.

Edging down the table, and last season’s Champions League finalists Tottenham fail to recover from their disappointing start to the season.

Spurs end the campaign in eighth, and are level on points with Wolves.

Everton also have a disappointing season, despite spending big in the summer transfer window.

They’re predicted to finish 13th in the Premier League table, winning just once away from home all year.

Steve Bruce manages to keep Newcastle United in the division, despite drawing 16 times at St James’ Park.

But, it’s relegation for Norwich City, Southampton and Watford, with the Quique Sanchez Flores’ team scoring just 14 goals all season long.
