Jadon Sancho axed by Borussia Dortmund after testing the boundaries

Dortmund returned to winning ways with a crucial 1-0 victory over table-toppers Borussia Monchengladbach and they did it without Sancho.
The 19-year-old was left out of the squad by Lucien Favre, who cited “a disciplinary measure” adding that “everything else will remain internal”.
It’s understood former Man City youth star Sancho was late back from international duty with England.
He was as a substitute in England’s 6-0 thrashing of Bulgaria in Monday’s Euro 2020 qualifier in Sofia, but Kicker reported that the winger did not return when he was expected and so was suspended for the game on Saturday.
Sporting director Michael Zorc explained: “Jadon is a good lad. He’s very young, he’s grown up very fast.
“He perhaps sometimes tests the boundaries. It’s not great in our situation. We haven’t taken the decision lightly, but there was no alternative. We have a responsibility to ensure the health of the squad.
“The suspension only applies to today. Jadon still trained this morning; we’re expecting him to be involved again on Wednesday.”
Coincidentally Real Madrid are set to step up their hunt to sign Sancho, according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque.
Manchester United have long been keen on Sancho and were thought to have been pole position to land Sancho should Dortmund ever cash in.
And those hopes had been given a lift in recent weeks after Zorc gave the Red Devils some incentive over a potential summer move.
