‘Fifth favourite’ The Premier League verdict that will surprise Aston Villa fans

The race for the title took another twist this weekend in the Premier League as Manchester City cut Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

Pep Guardiola‘s men reduced the arrears on their nearest rival by beating Crystal Palace 2-0 on Saturday, shortening their odds to win the title with the bookmakers.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and David Silva ensured the champions returned to winning ways and cut the gap at the top of the table while Liverpool could only manage a draw away at struggling Manchester United.

With the Leicester City and Chelsea both winning on Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino‘s side slipped even further behind the pace after dropping points against the Premier League’s bottom club.

At the other end of the table, there were big wins for Everton and Aston Villa to move them clear of the bottom three whilst Norwich picked up a point at Bournemouth.”/>
