Everton fan shows love for Yerry Mina with Twitter tribute song
Yerry Mina is fast becoming a favourite amongst the Everton faithful but one fan seems to love him more than most.
The Colombia international defender joined the Toffees for £27m from Barcelona at the start of last season but injury ruled him out for most of the year.
But he has come back firing in the new campaign and is now a mainstay in Marco Silva’s back-line at Goodison Park.
Everton have gone off the boil in recent weeks after starting the new season and ending the last one in decent form.
But Mina put in a commanding defensive performance in the 2-0 win against West Ham at the weekend to stop the rot.
The 25-year-old helped ease the mounting pressure on Silva with an eye-catching display against the Hammers.
The Merseyside sat in the relegation places going into the international break but the weekend victory has lifted them to 10 points from nine games.
And one Everton fan seemingly wanted to show Mina how much he means to the home faithful with a chorus of song.
The fan, who appears to be on holiday, records a video of himself and several men with guitars who look like local entertainers.
He asks them “how many Yerry’s?” to which they reply “one Yerry Mina, there’s only one Yerry Mina, one Yerry Miiiiina”.
The video, which has been uploaded to Twitter, then loops back to the start and is replayed.
Mina has built a solid partnership with England international defender Michael Keane in the Everton defence this season.
He is well known in Colombia for his heading prowess and scored three goals from headers at the World Cup last summer.
So far in his Everton career he has one goal from 25 appearances, a header in the 5-1 win at Burnley last season.
He saw one powerful header fired into the goal from a corner in the win over West Ham but it was controversially ruled out by the referee.
Mina has played every league game for Everton this season and finally looks to be making his mark on the Premier League.
