Eden Hazard ‘exasperated’ former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri over tactics
The Belgian was the stand-out player in his final year with the Blues, but that didn’t stop him getting on Sarri’s nerves.
Sarri got the impression that the 28-year-old was not prepared to put the team before himself as he ignored tactical instructions.
The Italian had a very specific game plan that originally reaped rewards before a difficult period that saw many fans turn against him.
He did recover to finish in the top four and deliver the Europa League, but still chose to move on and is unlikely to be shedding any tears for Hazard at the Bernabeu.
Ironically he is not the only manager Hazard managed to get to at Stamford Bridge.
The former Lille man played under six different managers during his time in England, admittedly with varying affection.
His performances prior to Jose Mourinho‘s sacking in December 2015 were called out by many.
But his comeback year after that under Antonio Conte saw him help deliver the Premier League title and put himself in contention for the PFA Player of the Year.
Now playing for Los Blancos he has managed to score just the once in six outings as he looks to establish himself following an injury-hit start to the season.
