Barcelona: Artur Mas wants Guardiola to become the Government of Catalonia’s president
Barcelona Discussions have taken place
The Catalan European Democratic Party (PDeCAT) have thought about asking Pep Guardiola to be a candidate for the Government of Catalonia’s presidential elections.
Artur Mas and Carles Puigdemont would be behind Guardiola, together with several Catalan businesspeople who are in favour of independence, as they consider Guardiola to be the best leader for the nationalist movement.
The big drawback, according to El Confidencial, who first reported the story, is that Guardiola wants to finish the season with Manchester City, so he would not return to Catalonia until at least June.
The PDeCAT do not want to wait that long, however, because they do not believe that the legislature is going to last that long.
