Paul Pogba pictured heavily bandaged with walking stick at Man Utd vs Liverpool
The midfielder, 26, has been left on the sidelines once again after aggravating an ankle injury in his return against Arsenal at the end of September.
Despite giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the green light to pick him in their 1-1 draw with the Gunners, and completing the full 90 minutes, Pogba managed to pick up another knock and has not featured for United since.
He posted a positive update on his Instagram yesterday, telling supporters he is “almost there” in his rehabilitation.
But much more concerning images emerged before United’s draw at home to the Premier League leaders this afternoon.
As he arrived to watch his team-mates become the first side to take points off of Liverpool in the league this season, Pogba was spotted using a crutch to ease the weight on his right foot – which was heavily bandaged.
United fans, then, might be waiting a little while until they see the £89m Frenchman back in action.
The England international broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, getting on the end of Daniel James’ superb cross into the box and tapping past Alisson from close range.
Sadio Mane thought he had drawn Liverpool level when he found the back of the net two minutes before half-time.
But Martin Atkinson ruled the equaliser out after consultation with VAR, which deemed Mane to have handled the ball before sticking it in the net.
The Reds huffed and puffed in the second half, and they finally got their goal with just five minutes remaining.
Andrew Robertson’s inviting cross fell at the back post to Adam Lallana, who stroked home into an empty net to stretch their unbeaten run to 26 games in the league.
