West Ham team news: Predicted 4-1-4-1 line-up to face Everton – Pellegrini decision | Football | Sport

West Ham are currently 8th in the table but a win against Everton at Goodison Park could send the Hammers into the Champions League qualifying places.

Pellegrini will be looking for his side to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace before the international break and will no doubt be pleased that Declan Rice is available for the match.

The defensive midfielder reportedly suffered a virus while on international duty with England but Pellegrini confirmed Rice is now fine since his return.

And the 66-year-old Chilean also confirmed his squad has suffered no further injuries during the international break.

However, there are still three important first-team players he won’t be able to select for the lunch-time kick-off.

Forward Michail Antonio is still recovering from surgery on a hamstring injury, while defender Winston Reid is still working his way back to fitness after suffering a freak knee injury back in March 2018.

West Ham are also with first-choice keeper Lukasz Fabianski, who has now had surgery on a torn thigh muscle he picked up during the Hammers’ 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

“Lukasz had his surgery last Saturday, we must be patient,” Pellegrini said.

“As we said at the beginning, he will probably return next year.”

Pellegrini knows his players are going up against an Everton side who are under pressure, with the club sitting 18th in the table and boss Marco Silva facing the possible sack if he suffers a fifth straight Premier League loss.

However, the West Ham manager believes they can take all three points if his side play their style of football.

“They have very good players and a team that is very strong every year,” Pellegrini said about Everton.

“I suppose I expected them to not be in that position in the table.

“Because we won that game last season it is in that moment we played in the way we wanted to.

“We want the same result again this time as well.”
