Man Utd star Paul Pogba spotted on Dubai beach with Zinedine Zidane – EXCLUSIVE
The Frenchmen were photographed this week as they enjoyed a 10-minute chat in the Middle East.
Pogba, who is currently recovering from an ankle problem, was talking to his fellow countryman while wearing an Adidas training top, a protective bandage over his right ankle and carrying a crutch in his left hand.
Zidane, meanwhile, was in the country to take part in the ‘Dubai AI in Sports conference’ earlier this week.
The meeting between the two men will only fuel further speculation that a transfer may be in the offing in the months to come.
The Madrid boss has made no secret of his desire to sign Pogba in recent months, and reports over the summer suggested he was unhappy that a deal hadn’t been sanctioned by Los Blancos chiefs.
The La Liga giants strengthened dramatically before the transfer deadline, spending just shy of £300m on fresh talent after a disappointing campaign which saw three different managers at the helm.
But Pogba remains the ‘Galactico’ Zidane wants to radically change his side in the Spanish capital.
“I like him a lot—that is nothing new. I know him personally,” he said of Pogba.
“He is a truly different player—few players can do what he can. He is a midfielder who can defend, attack, do everything.
“But he is not my player, he is at Manchester. He has always said that, after Manchester, Madrid has always interested him. So when his experience at Manchester ends, why not come here to Madrid?”
Months later, Pogba added fuel to the fire, declaring that he wanted to leave United for a ‘new challenge’.
His agent Mino Raiola also turned the screw to try and get his client a deal.
But in the end, United held firm and slapped a whopping price tag on Pogba which ensured he stayed at Old Trafford.
The World Cup winner has since said he is happy to stay at the club.
Jose Mourinho has been linked with replacing the Frenchman should he be axed, which could rule out a move for Pogba.
The pair famously failed to see eye to eye in Mourinho‘s final days at United.
