‘Has an offer’ – Big transfer claim made over Wolves deal

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has received ‘an offer’ from Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of the January transfer window, according to claims in Italy.

The Ivory Coast international has been touted for a move to Molineux for some time and was one of several midfielders the club considered over the summer.

There were even claims that a deal had been agreed in August between Wolves and Milan, but BirminghamLive understands that was never the case.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is an admirer of Kessie, though, and remains keen to strengthen in the engine room.

And, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Wolves have put forward an offer to the midfielder. Kessie is believed to be rated at in excess of £25million by Milan which would make him Wolves’ second most costly transfer ever if they pulled it off.

Wolves paid Milan £16million – a fee which will eventually rise to £20million – for Italian forward Patrick Cutrone in July.
