Arsenal tipped to drop points at Sheffield United because of Liverpool struggles

Arsenal may have to settle for a point against Sheffield United in the Premier League on Monday night, according to Michael Owen.

The Gunners went into the international break in third spot in the league table after a decent run of form in recent weeks.

Wins over Bournemouth and Aston Villa and a draw at Manchester United moved Unai Emery’s men into the top four.

Next up is a tricky looking trip to Brammall Lane to face newly-promoted Sheffield United on Monday.

The Blades have taken to life in the Premier League well and do not look fazed by the experience so far.

Wins over Crystal Palace and Everton along with away points secured at Bournemouth, Watford and Chelsea have left Chris Wilder’s side in 13th spot.

And all three of their defeated so far have been by just a single goal, narrowly going down to Leicester City, Southampton, and Liverpool.

United were especially unlucky to lose to Jurgen Klopp’s European champions with the two teams only separated by a late goalkeeping howler from Dean Henderson.

Indeed, Sheffield United have only conceded more than one goal once so far at home this season.

And Owen thinks that Arsenal will find life tough in Sheffield.

Speaking to BetVictor, he said: “Sheffield United have failed to score in their last three games in all competitions but they were, arguably, unlucky not to pick up a point against Liverpool in their last home game.

Arsenal have only conceded once in their last four games in all competitions, but I would not be surprised if the Gunners had to settle for a point at Bramall Lane on Monday.

“Chris Wilder’s side have not lost by more than one goal in the league so far this campaign and I think they will get a draw against the Gunners.”

Owen has also predicted wins for Liverpool at Manchester United and Chelsea at home to Newcastle.

He also reckons Tottenham will beat Watford and Wolves will beat Southampton.
