Chelsea join Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Inter in transfer race for Italian youngster | Football | Sport
Chelsea are already making transfer plans despite their ongoing transfer ban.
The Blues are set to be banned from signing any new players until the summer after breaking Fifa rules regarding their dealings with overseas players under the age of 18.
However, Frank Lampard’s bosses have selected Italian wonder kid Emanuel Viganto as a key target, and will peruse a move should their transfer ban be reduced.
“Blues scout was in Italy to look him in Salernitana-Chievo two weeks ago.
“Also Bayern Munich, Milan and Inter are following the young player.”
Schira also revealed that Chelsea are not the only club that are interested in making an inquiry for the player, who has featured for both Brazil and Italy at youth level.
The midfielder, 19, has made 12 first-team appearances for Chievo since making his debut in 2017, scoring one goal.
One player that could be one his way out at Chelsea is Olivier Giroud, with France boss Didier Deschamps speaking out over his lack of playing time after he scored in the 1-1 draw against Turkey on Monday.
“You know, Olivier suffers his situation,” Deschamps said in his press conference.
“Before January, nothing will move.
“After, it will be up to him to see. I hope he will have more playing time.
“But we cannot take away his goals, his good performances. He scores, he makes others play well.
“He knows he is under pressure, but he always responds.”
Lampard has opted to select Tammy Abraham ahead of the experienced former Arsenal target-man so far this season, and his faith has been rewarded with eight Premier League goals.
Next up for Chelsea is the visit of Newcastle in the league on Saturday (3pm).
