Wales fans fume as Ethan Ampadu second head injury victim against Croatia
Welsh players are taking a battering against Croatia in tonight’s European Qualifier in Cardiff.
Manchester United‘s Daniel James was wiped out in the first 45 and looked certain to come off before soldiering on.
But Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu was not so lucky after he was smashed from behind by Bruno Petković.
He was substituted and assessed for a possible concussion after laying motionless on the ground after the initial challenge.
Wales fans though are not impressed about the attritional approach the visitors are taking
“Disgusting that from Croatia. He had no intention of playing the ball just clattering Ampadu,” said one.
“Now Ethan Ampadu forced off with another heavy aerial challenge,” added another.
“Croatia such a dirty side,” claimed a third.
“Ethan Ampadu now down for Wales. Unbelievable,” cried a fourth.
“Just seen the replay. That was a red, clear as day. Poor sportsmanship from Croatia tonight,” said a fifth.
The game remained in the balance as Ampadu was replaced by Joe Morrell.
Ryan Giggs and Wales are in need of three points in order to leapfrog Slovakia into third.
But with the contest becoming increasingly physical the referee is brandishing a host of yellow cards and there’s no guarantee 22 players remain on the pitch.
