Real Madrid: The ‘new’ Brahim is ready
Real Madrid Available for selection after injury set-backs
May 19, 2019 was the last time that Brahim Diaz donned the Real Madrid shirt for an official fixture and he could now return five months later against Real Mallorca.
“He’s at his best,” those around him have said of the 20-year-old after his form in training.
Delayed in joining the team after a pre-season injury in the United States, he was the first on Madrid’s long list of 2019/20 casualties. He’s back from his setback though after returning on September 9.
He hasn’t played a competitive game since May against Real Betis, and he also missed the European Under-21 Championship with Spain.
His standing fell quickly after joining in January, but Brahim has already become close with Eden Hazard in Madrid, largely due to his level of English.
On top of that, they spent a long time together during the last international break, when they both stayed at Valdebebas.
His English skills have also helped him to build up a relationship with Gareth Bale.
Brahim‘s circle has also changed. He left the agent who handed his move to Madrid, and now his father, Sufi, will assume the responsibility of managing his dealings.
Now, he’s hoping to get back on his feet at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, and this week could see him take his first steps.
