Man Utd star Harry Maguire needs ‘balance’ in team to succeed, says Steve Walsh
But Maguire is suffering a difficult start to life at United, with only two wins in eight appearances.
His move came after impressing for the Foxes over two seasons.
And Walsh, who made more than 350 appearances in Leicester’s back line, has suggested how the 26-year-old’s performance can be improved.
Speaking exclusively to Starsport on behalf on GentingBet, the 54-year-old said: “What they’ve got with Harry is a tremendous player who can play out from the back.
“But you’ve got to get the right balance alongside him.
“They may change that at some point.
“But it’s a rebuilding process of Man United and the fans have to be patient.”
The Englishman was the third summer signing the Red Devils made after Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
But Walsh hailed Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer’s side for the move.
“I can understand why they went for him,” Walsh added.
“Man United need a Harry Maguiure type of player and that’s why they’ve paid the money for him.
“They’re notorious for having a solid backline.
Maguire’s woes continued on the international stage last night.
The Three Lions lost their first qualification game for 10 years with a 2-1 defeat at Czech Republic.
It comes as Walsh previously compared transfer target James Maddison to a Leicester legend.
