Liverpool news: Alisson sends Neymar message over potential return to Barcelona | Football | Sport

Liverpool star Alisson is confident Neymar can be the best player in the world if he returns to Barcelona.

But the Reds keeper is adamant that his Brazil team-mate can reach the top no matter where he ends up playing.

Barca tried to re-sign the Paris Saint-Germain superstar in the summer but an agreement couldn’t be reached with the Ligue 1 champions and so the 27-year-old stayed in Paris.

Alisson doesn’t know if the ex-Santos player will ever return to Barcelona but is adamant that he can reach Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s level regardless of the team he plays for.

The former Roma player also wished him luck and hopes he will continue to perform with his usual joy and energy.

Alisson told Mundo Deportivo: “I think that Neymar can be the best in the world on any team.

Neymar is a high-level player and would be fundamental in any team in the world.

“If he returns to Barcelona or not… I wish him good luck and to play with his usual joy and energy, wherever he is.”

Neymar joined Barcelona in 2013 and quickly rose to superstardom with some stunning appearances for the Catalan giants.

The Brazilian scored 105 goals in 186 appearances throughout his four-year stint at the Nou Camp.

He also formed a deadly trio with Messi as well as Luis Suarez, which was dubbed as MSN.

Together they scored a staggering total of 270 goals and produced 133 assists between them.

Neymar, though, left Barcelona in 2017 for a world record £200million fee to PSG.

He has so far scored four goals in five matches for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season.

However, the star forward is serving a two-match ban from the Champions League after being found guilty of directing abusive language towards a referee or assistant following PSG’s elimination from Manchester United last term.
