Juventus eye double Chelsea transfer swoop as Maurizio Sarri targets former team | Football | Sport
He has won six of his first seven games in Serie A and tops the table, one point clear of Inter Milan.
But Sarri still wants to strengthen his side, according to reports, as Juve aim for their ninth consecutive league title.
Ilbianconero claim Sarri is keen on Palmieri and Kante, having managed Chelsea last campaign.
Though it’s unlikely to be easy for Juve to secure a deal with Palmieri recently entering talks over a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Kante is reportedly considered ‘un-transferrable’ by Chelsea and is a key part to Frank Lampard’s midfield.
Kante suffered an injury scare on Friday as he limped off ahead of France’s Euro 2020 qualifying clash with Iceland.
Though French boss Didier Deschamps played down fears that Kante’s injury is overly serious.
“He felt a pain in the adductor muscle,” Deschamps said.
“He had a feeling where he did not feel comfortable to play.
“I made the decision [to pull him from the squad], because maybe it could get even worse. I knew Moussa would be ready.”
When asked if he’d be ready to face Turkey on Monday, Deschamps added: “I do not think it’s too serious for [Kante], but I do not have an answer tonight.”
Lampard will hope to have his star fit again for the Blues’ clash at home to Newcastle on October 19.
It comes after Deschamps revealed Lampard had been in contact over the well-being of Kante.
“Lampard had asked me not to pick Kante at the last break,” Deschamps told a press conference.
“If that’s still the way I’m going to call him later to tell him it would be nice if you play Olivier Giroud a little bit!”
