Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s view on Jadon Sancho transfer amid Man Utd interest | Football | Sport

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Borussia Dortmund star and Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho, reports say.

The England international has been tearing up the Bundesliga ever since touching down from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 and is also now a regular starter for his country.

Manchester United’s interest in the Dortmund star is well-documented with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously making him his top transfer target during the summer.

Liverpool have since, though, also emerged as potential suitors.

And the Athletic say that Klopp likes Sancho a lot but any transfer would be difficult to broker.

That’s because Dortmund will try and get a huge fee for the 19-year-old, with the Bundesliga giants notoriously stubborn in the transfer market.

And it’s also claimed that there’s no truth to claims that Sancho is house-hunting in the local area.

Dortmund have admitted that their teenage sensation could leave in the next two years, with coach Jorg Heinrich saying: ”Jadon can become one of the best players in Europe, or even the world.

“He should know Dortmund is an excellent place for young players to play consistently and to develop on a very, very high level.

“It won’t be easy to keep him at Dortmund. We hope he plays one or two seasons longer.

“But we all know very, very big clubs with a lot of money want to have him in their team.”

United’s interest in Sancho is thought to be bigger than Liverpool’s.

Yet ESPN’s Ian Darke believes the Dortmund star should reject a move to Old Trafford because it’s a ‘step down’.

“[From Dortmund] to Manchester United? No, he’d be talking a step down,” he said on ESPN FC.

“Let’s be blunt about it, this is a team in the bottom half of the table.

“This is Manchester United, and they’ve still got the gloss and the glamour that sticks to the name, just about.

“Imagine how Manchester City would feel if the guy who was a kid in their academy went down the road to Manchester United?

“I know Manchester United would be interested, but the queue would be halfway around Europe for this youngster.”
