Barcelona have Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Kylian Mbappe transfer preference | Football | Sport

Barcelona would prefer to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG rather than raid Manchester United or Tottenham for Marcus Rashford or Harry Kane.

The Catalan giants are seeking a striker amid a belief that Luis Suarez is past his best – despite the Uruguay international scoring six goals across all competitions already this season.

And Mundo Deportivo claim that while Barcelona admire Rashford and Kane, Mbappe is their dream candidate to touch down at the Nou Camp.

The France international has been in stunning form ever since bursting onto the scene with Monaco in 2017.

Mbappe got a £166million move to PSG after initially joining on loan and has helped them win back to back Ligue 1 titles in the time since.

He also played a key role as his country won the World Cup in Russia last year, even scoring in the final.

And the report says Barcelona are dreaming of bringing the 20-year-old to Catalonia in the future.

They are ready to sign a striker but, should Suarez deliver, are willing to delay any potential transfer until 2021.

The problem is, though, that PSG will not make any exit for their talisman easy.

Mbappe is admired by club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, meaning the chances of getting him away from the Parc des Princes are remote.

And Real Madrid are also interested in signing the PSG star having wanted to snap him up two years ago.

Florentino Perez thought he would be able to persuade Mbappe into moving to the Bernabeu.

But the player opted to ditch Monaco for PSG instead.

Meanwhile, Mbappe was absent as France beat Iceland 1-0 in their Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday night.

And, speaking recently, France manager Didier Deschamps admitted the youngster ‘wasn’t ready’ to play in the game.

“He needs more time,” Deschamps said.

“He left for the very simple reason that he wasn’t ready. He wasn’t quite there.”

He added: “He wanted to come and give himself the chance, but from the moment that that becomes impossible, it was logical to give him back to his club.”

While PSG are determined to keep hold of Mbappe, the chances of Kane and Rashford leaving are also remote.

Tottenham star Kane is the club’s talisman and Daniel Levy can be a shrewd negotiator in the transfer market.

Rashford, meanwhile, only signed a new Manchester United contract back in the summer.
