The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who made the controversial switch from St Andrews to Villa Park in the summer, has not played for Dean Smith’s side since September’s 0-0 draw with West Ham United.
He has been named on the bench in the three games since but has not been called upon to feature by his manager.

But he has now worried Villa supporters by posting the picture on Friday afternoon.
It shows Jota in his hospital bed but with his thumb raised in the air and the caption reading: “Good and fresh”.
One concerned Villa supporter tweeted: ‘[Does] anyone know what’s happened to Jota?”, while another jokingly replied: “He is just getting the remaining blue drained out of him.”
While a number of Villa stars head away to represent their national sides during the October international break, Jota was not called up for his native Spain.
With the club yet to confirm any injury to the former Brentford man, it is likely the midfielder is making the most of his time off to receive the best possible rehabilitation before the Villans are next in action at home against Brighton a week tomorrow, October 19.
