The new Fellaini? Man Utd finally sign big man – but he’ll be stuck in the kitchen
Manchester United missed out on a number of top targets in the summer… but they’ve made no mistake capturing famous chef Tom Kerridge.
But Kerridge will be putting his talents to good use in the kitchen instead.
One of the UK’s most popular Michelin-starred chefs, known for his appearances on Masterchef, Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen, he will launch a new project in Manchester in November.
Kerridge will open his first Manchester venture, The Bull & Bear, in the Stock Exchange Hotel.
Kerridge will design a new menu for the stadium and will ‘personally oversee every aspect of service’ in the No. 7 at Old Trafford, the most premium Matchday VIP experience at the ground.
This will begin after the international break.
“We are hugely excited to have Tom on board to further enhance the matchday experience for our supporters, across both general admission and hospitality areas,” United’s Chief Operating Officer, Collette Roche said.
And the 46-year-old is over the moon he has the chance to work for his beloved club.
“Having been a Manchester United fan all my life, it has been a dream of mine to work with this special club since I became a chef, and I’m thrilled to now be doing so,” Kerridge added.
“It will take a bit of getting used to not being in my usual seat in the ground on a matchday, but I can’t wait to get started and for fans to enjoy my food.
“I hope this collaboration is just the beginning.”
Fans will be hoping Kerridge performs better than the first-team currently are, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side currently sitting two points above the relegation zone.
