Man Utd fans say the same thing as Marcus Rashford suffers injury vs West Ham

Manchester United lost 1-0 to West Ham this afternoon to pile more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Before the game, the Norwegian was faced with an attacking dilemma due to Mason Greenwood’s illness.

This left Solskjaer with Marcus Rashford as his only out-and-out striker at the London Stadium.

And things got worse when the England international limped off on the hour mark.

Rashford didn’t look right from the first minute and was criticised for his performance before he was withdrawn.

Fans have since responded on social media, fuming at the fact United didn’t sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

“Good thing we were to sign an able replacement for Lukaku, with Rashford injured. Yes man OGS does it again,” one tweeted.

“And thats why i always question why we didn’t sign another striker now look Rashford injury team look like a bottom half team….” one wrote.

Solskjaer looks to the bench to bring on a striker to replace Rashford then realises he sold them all. But don’t despair, Jesse Lingard has just moonwalked over to him saying “beans beans beans”,” joked a third.

“That’s what happens when you start Rashford week in week out I’m so glad we didn’t sign a replacement for Lukaku,” one said.

“Getting rid of Lukaku & [Alexis] Sanchez with no replacement was always going to come back and hurt us,” a fifth added.

Speaking this week, Solskjaer defended his decision to sell Lukaku without bringing in a replacement.

“For me, it was the right decision,” the Norwegian tactician retorted.

“Because I think for the club and for him [Greenwood], I think he’s going to be important for us this season.

“He’s not played a lot so far but he’ll get his minutes and he’ll grow and develop.”

Greenwood scored the only goal of the game in midweek as United scraped past Astana.
