Adama Traore reveals Wolves players’ reaction to Romain Saiss red card
Adama Traore has praised his Wolverhampton Wanderers teammates for their reaction to Romain Saiss’s red card at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
Saiss, who played at centre-back against Crystal Palace, was dismissed on 73 minutes for two bookable offences on Wilfred Zaha.
Despite Palace’s numerical advantage Wolves improved after the Moroccan saw red and rallied to earn a point through Diogo Jota’s 95th minute equaliser.
And Traore, who floated the cross in for Jota’s leveller, has echoed manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s belief that Saiss has ‘nothing to apologise for’ after his moment of indiscipline.
“Most of the time it’s no problem, sometimes it can be him, sometimes it can be me or another player, so it’s no problem,” Spanish winger Traore said. “The important thing is to keep believing. If we have one or two men less, the important thing is to keep fighting until the end.”
And that they did. Wolves were on the brink of a fourth successive defeat – something they’ve never previously succumbed to under Nuno – before Jota popped up with his fourth goal of the season.
“We worked so hard during the game,” added Traore. “After the red card of Saiss it was tough. We stayed in shape and we kept believing, that is the important thing.
“It’s a good moment. We had a lot of chances to score in the first half but we didn’t finish them. We have to keep working, we have to improve.”
