Tottenham: How Pochettino can improve form after Leicester defeat – Tim Cahill | Football | Sport
Spurs also need to find more leaders in their squad, Cahill said, as they’ve let leads slip in three of the past four matches.
They went 2-0 up in the North London Derby before being pegged back to 2-2, and then let another two-goal lead slip through their fingers against Olympiakos.
After their latest disappointment against Leicester City, Cahill thinks something seriously needs to change.
He told BBC Match of the Day: “To have that mark on them, 2-0 up against Arsenal, 2-0 up against Olympiakos, [and] today… One win in the last nine away games.
“For me, it just needs to be more about the team.
“More leaders, and a little bit more pride for the fans, for the badge they play for.”
Tottenham lost 2-1 at the King Power Stadium to Leicester, meaning they’ve only won one league game in their last five matches.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have only collected eight points from their six matches in the Premier League this season.
They found themselves below Bournemouth and Leicester in the table at the end of the day’s play.
The Spurs manager has backed his team to bounce back, but insisted they need to keep working hard after the defeat.
“We dominated the game and we deserved more but that is football,” said Pochettino after the match.
“It can change quick. We need to keep working. We have a lot of games coming and we need to be ready.”
Tottenham now face some respite from league action when they travel to Colchester United for their third round Carabao Cup tie on Tuesday.
