PSG star Neymar has items thrown at him by Lyon fans before scoring late winner

PSG star Neymar appeared to be pelted with items from Lyon supporters during Sunday evening’s Ligue 1 game at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

The Brazilian is not the most popular player in the French capital at present after attempting to engineer a move to Barcelona over the summer.

PSG fans booed and jeered when he touched the ball at the Parc des Princes last weekend.

And Neymar was again the subject of abuse against Lyon tonight, as opposition supporters attempted to hit him with rubbish and other items during the clash.

On two separate occasions, the PSG forward went to take a corner in front of the Lyon fans and was targeted.

PSG supporters were also reportedly booing and whistling Neymar throughout the clash.

But as he did last week at home, the attacker scored a late winner to silence both home and away fans.

Neymar was surrounded by Lyon defenders in the penalty area as he shifted the ball out of his feet and scored with a low effort in the 87th minute.

But that didn’t stop him being booed by his own fans once again as he was substituted moments later.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel claims he understands why supporters are not ready to forgive Neymar just yet.

Barcelona tried hard to re-sign the 27-year-old in the summer, and the player wanted to leave.

“We made a very big effort to get Neymar,” said Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau.

“We did everything possible. We made two offers, one including players and one without them but we got the feeling PSG never wanted to sell him.

We are not going to lose control when it comes to players.

“We want the best team around but we also want to be sustainable.”
