Manchester United fans give verdict on new signing Hannibal Mejbri after he shines for U18s
Manchester United fans think they have another promising youngster on their hands as new signing Hannibal Mejbri impressed for the under-18s on Saturday.
It has not taken long for the 16-year-old to settle in to life at Carrington as he made just his second appearance for the academy in the U18 Premier League North fixture against Everton at the AON Training Complex.
With first teamers Paul Pogba , Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young watching on, United fell behind to their visitors, but got back on level terms in the first half as Mejbri picked up the ball on the right from a break and found Charlie Wellens late run into the area who swept home.
Mejbri was then involved again after Everton had scored a second, feeding fellow new signing Dillon Hoogewerf with a pinpoint through-ball who was brought down in the box for a penalty. Charlie McCann then stepped up and dispatched the spot kick.
Unfortunately for United, Everton went ahead for the third time shortly after the break, forcing the young Reds to search for an equaliser once more. Mejbri was at the centre of United’s pressing throughout the second half and was unlucky not to help his side earn a point, as they lost 3-2.
But United fans watching the game were encouraged by Mejbri’s start to life at United, and took to Twitter to praise the youngster.
