Man Utd fans demand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacking after West Ham horror show
The Norwegian watched his United side go down 2-0 at West Ham in a sorry display.
It means the Red Devils have lost two of their opening six games and have mustered just eight points.
Solskjaer spoke of his desire to return United to the success of yesteryear and started impressively, but the optimism has swiftly faded.
The club’s fans, so accustomed to success, are loathe to play the patient game and the man in the dugout is now in the firing line.
“Sack that dumb a** called Ole @ManUtd #OleOut,” boldly said one.
“Time for a change #OleOut,” claimed another.
“Ole would make a good director of football at United, nothing more. Club legend but its #OleOut,” said a third.
While another questioned his tactics: “Honestly Ole starting Mata and Matic together shows he has no clue whatsoever I think Ole is a mistake guy has no experience #OleOut”
The fans gripe has often been with the board and Ed Woodward, but the manager is slowly becoming part of an unwanted group.
Solskjaer spent close to £150m in the summer in an effort to reinvigorate the squad.
He has made an effort to seek young homegrown players, but the lack of experienced leaders in the squad is stark.
Solskjaer last saw his side win on the road back in February when they won at Crystal Palace.
They ended last season with a whimper and it concluded with a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford to already relegated Cardiff City.
Hopes were that a pre-season to embed his ideas would alter United’s fortunes, but with the exception of an opening day win over Chelsea, the club have shone little to suggest progress is being made.
