LaLiga: Jesus Navas, Sevilla’s superhero against Real Madrid
LaLiga Has faced Los Blancos 24 times
While that two-legged affair ended in Madrid’s favour, Navas has a knack for turning in spell-binding displays against them in a Sevilla shirt.
Marcelo, who is ruled out through injury, may be a little relieved to not be facing Sevilla‘s No.16 after last year’s run-around, as well as many others in years gone by.
He has faced Madrid eleven times at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan and has won seven times. The last one was last year where he ran the length of the field before setting up Andre Silva to make it 3-0.
Navas has made four assists and scored three goals in this fixture, the first one against Iker Casillas just days after lifting the club’s first ever UEFA Cup in Eindhoven.
On Sunday, it will be Ferland Mendy‘s task to try to keep Navas under wraps and, despite the Spaniard’s advancing years, the French defender would be wrong to underestimate the tireless 34-year-old.
