Gary Neville reacts as Man Utd legend Roy Keane joins Sky Sports – ‘I’ve been dropped’ | Football | Sport
Gary Neville has joked he has “been dropped” by Sky Sports following the signing of Manchester United legend Roy Keane as a pundit.
It was announced on Saturday that Keane will be a regular in the Sky studio for Premier League matches throughout this season.
The trio will be at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea welcome Liverpool at 4.30pm.
Sky Sports presenter Laura Woods, who was alongside Neville at the London Stadium, attempted to wind up the former right-back when they cut to Goals on Sunday this morning.
“Big game today but also big names in the studio as well,” Woods said.
“You’ve got the likes of Roy Keane, you’ve got Jose Mourinho, you’ve also got Souness as well, and Jamie Carragher.
“You’re here though aren’t you?”
Gary Neville could not help but take a dig at regular sidekick Carragher
“I think I’ve been dropped!” he replied.
“There’s some Premier League titles in that studio, and Jamie Carragher.
“I’m delighted to be here to be fair, I love watching United play. Chelsea Liverpool, let them fight over it.
“They’ll be some harsh words I’m sure if United don’t play well.”
On joining Sky, Keane said it was the next best thing while he is currently out of a coaching job.
“I’ve worked with Sky Sports quite a few times over the years and it’s always been an experience I’ve enjoyed, so this makes absolute sense,” the Irishman said.
“While I’m not coaching I still want to be involved in the game and in some ways, this is the next best thing.
“It’s a game of opinions, I’ve never shied away from giving mine and that’s only going to continue this season.
“Sky Sports has always been famous for the heated debates – I look forward to starting a few more.”
