Chelsea fans demand Reece James start vs Liverpool after incredible U23s assist
The Blues take on Jurgen Klopp’s side this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard’s team could break into the top four with a win.
The Englishman has been praised for giving young players such as Tammy Abraham an opportunity to start.
Another talent emerging at Cobham is James, who spent last season on loan at Wigan.
And footage has emerged which shows the 19-year-old is brimming with confidence.
In the clip, the Englishman is playing for the under-23s.
They are 1-0 up against Southampton with 20 minutes to go.
A corner is put into the box but none of the Chelsea players can get a head on it.
It comes out at pace to James on the far side, giving the full-back little room for manoeuvre.
But James chips the ball back to the left post.
And Clinton Mola nods it into the bottom-left corner to double the lead at St. Mary’s.
This footage was shared on Twitter yesterday, where it has been viewed nearly 45,000 times.
It was soon republished on Reddit where the Blues faithful were full of praise for the teenager.
“Unreal composure from Reece,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “A full-back that can cross.”
While a third suggested the 19-year-old deserved a chance.
“Let’s see his senior debut,” they said.
And a fourth added: “Reece crossing to Tammy – I can already see it.”
