Chelsea and Liverpool FIFA 20 ratings compared: Who has the highest rated squad? | Football | Sport

It’s not long until FIFA 20 hits the shelves (September 27) and in preparation for the game’s release we’ve taken an alternative look at the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Blues lost their main man Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer leaving a void for someone to step up and fill for Frank Lampard.

So far that man has been Tammy Abraham, who has already earned himself a Team of the Week card on FIFA Ultimate Team (81 rating) after his hat-trick against Wolves.

The same can be said for Sadio Mane (89 rated) for his double against Newcastle, but to keep things simple, Express Sport have decided to only use normal player ratings as we compare who has the highest rated squad out of the two sides.

GK: Kepa is beginning to rival David de Gea for the Spain No 1 shirt and with that his rating has gone up to 84 this season, but that does not match Alisson who after receiving the UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year award gets an 89.

DF: Liverpool boasted the best defence in the Premier League last season and for that reason their backline has been blessed with an average rating of 85, boosted of course by Virgil van Dijk’s 90.

The same can’t be said for Chelsea who have an average defensive rating of 82, not helped by Kurt Zouma being just an 80. Cesar Azpilicueta does have an 84 though, which is better than the Reds right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

MF: This is where Chelsea are strongest, boasting a midfield overall of 85 thanks to N’Golo Kante who has been awarded with an 89 card.

He’s the highest rated midfielder from the two clubs, while Liverpool have a combined 84 rating from their middle three of Fabinho (85), Gini Wijnaldum (84) and Jordan Henderson (83).

FWD: Liverpool are renowned for having one of the best front three’s in world football and they’ll be delighted with their stats. Mohamed Salah (90), Sadio Mane (88) and Roberto Firmino (86) give the frontline an average of 88.

Chelsea’s attack is someway behind that with just an 82 average, the rating that Pedro, Willian and Olivier Giroud have all been given ahead of next Friday’s release.

Full Liverpool ratings (Overall: 85)

Allison – 89

Andy Robertson – 85

Virgil van Dijk – 90

Trent Alexander Arnold – 83

Fabinho – 85

Jordan Henderson – 83
