Tottenham player ratings vs Leicester: Kane gets an eight – but what about his team-mates? | Football | Sport
Mauricio Pochettino’s frustration will be growing after a poor second-half showing saw Leicester take all three points.
Tottenham gave away a lead for the third time in four games to lose to Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes late on.
Harry Kane gave the away side the lead with an instinctive poke as Spurs went in ahead at the break.
Son Heung-min was then adjudged to be offside before Serge Aurier looked to have put the game to bed.
VAR intervened and ruled out the goal with the South Korean almost exactly level with Jonny Evans.
Ricardo Pereira then struck the home side level with a powerful drive which beat Paulo Gazzaniga, before Leicester took the lead.
James Maddison fired home from range to delight the King Power crowd, moving his side to second in the table.
Tottenham player ratings vs Leicester below
Gazzaniga – 7/10
Stood in well for Hugo Lloris and couldn’t do much for either goal
Aurier – 6/10
Looked to have won Spurs the game in the second-half, let his standards slip in the second period.
Alderweireld – 6/10
Seemed comfortable in the first-half but could’ve done better for Leicester’s equaliser.
Vertonghen – 6/10
Dealt with Jamie Vardy well in the first period but struggled after the break.
Rose – 7/10
Solid on the left but not as involved as his fellow full-back.
Winks – 8/10
Looked calm and collected in the middle of the park but didn’t offer enough going forward.
Sissoko – 6/10
Energetic as always but not much cutting edge, booked for his challenge on Maddison.
Ndombele – 6/10
Failed to make an impact as Spurs struggled to get a foothold in the final half an hour.
Lamela – 6/10
Slipped out of view for too much of the game, Pochettino might have too much faith in him.
Kane – 8/10
Did brilliantly to score in the first half but could’ve added to it after.
Son – 7/10
Did well in breaking into the box and creating chances, was adjudged to be offside in the build up to the ruled-out goal.
Came on for Sissoko but struggled to settle into the game, poor.
