Tottenham news: Anton Ferdinand supports brother Rio by claiming Harry Kane must leave | Football | Sport
Anton Ferdinand has supported brother Rio and also claimed Harry Kane should leave Tottenham.
Now Rio’s younger brother Anton has revealed he has a similar feeling about Kane’s future.
Anton claims the England captain should want to look back on how many trophies he has won during his career rather than being loyal to one club throughout his playing days.
“If I’m honest, he’s got to go,” Anton Ferdinand told talkSPORT.
“He’s a fantastic player, there’s no question, there’s no doubt about it, he’s fantastic. Exactly [he should be winning trophies].
“He wants to wake up in how many years time, speak to his children, his grandchildren, and say ‘look what I’ve won. Look what I’ve won’.
“Not ‘look, I played for this club for 10 years, I was loyal to this club, played for this club for 10, 15, 20 years’.
“‘Look what I’ve won’ – that’s what you want to be saying to your grandchildren.”
“I’ve got to be honest with you, I’d be gone because I’ve not got time to hang around.
“I could get injured next season, I could lose form etc. I want to win now.
“http://feedproxy.google.com/”I’ve given most of my career to this club and they haven’t [won anything]’.
“Yeah, you go very close, you can keep going very close, they’ve been close a few times of winning the league and then obviously the Champions League. It’s not enough.
“I can understand [Christian] Eriksen, you can understand Eriksen’s frustrations and wanting to leave and saying ‘I want to go somewhere and potentially win something’, not be a maybe.”
