Man Utd fans beg for James Maddison move after cryptic Old Trafford Instagram post | Football | Sport
The 22-year-old’s post had no caption attached to it and the picture showed the midfielder playing at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday for Leicester.
The game finished 1-0 to United thanks to Marcus Rashford’s first-half penalty – meaning it was hardly a match to remember or pay homage to for Maddison.
Maddison, who grew up supporting United, was linked with a move to join the Red Devils throughout the summer transfer window but ultimately stayed put at the King Power.
But his post has sent United fans wild, with most pleading for the former Norwich man to follow his ex-team-mate Harry Maguire to Manchester.
One said: “Please force the move fella.”
Another wrote: “You’re welcome here whenever.”
Someone else went with: “You’ll be posting plenty of photos at Old Trafford next season pal.”
A fourth tweeted: “Welcome to United.”
This United fan wrote: “Nice place to play every week.”
Another commended the picture, writing: “Love it mate, I’d like to see it more regularly though.”
One supporter tweeted: “You can take pictures at old Trafford anytime you like mate.”
Another welcomed Maddison, writing: “We’d be more than happy to watch you play at the Theatre of Dreams on a weekly basis.”
And lastly, one simply wrote: “Welcome to Manchester United mate.”
Maddison joined Leicester from Norwich last summer for £22million and has since gone on to become one of their key players.
