Gary Neville calls on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be given time
Although it’s still early in the season, it’s safe to say all the former striker’s signings have been thoroughly impressive and needed.
All of Harry Maguire, Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have walked right into United’s lineup much to the delight of the fans.
Neville’s focus was more so on the outgoings as he believes there are players that need to be moved on before the club can improve.
According to Squawka, Neville said: “He should get the transfer window in January, into the summer and next season.
“Then there has to be a progression, you have to see improvement, but look at Jurgen Klopp. It took four years before he won anything, but it started to get better after 12 months.
“It is a young team, and I as a Manchester United supporter believe he should get this and next season.
“Give him three to four transfer windows to clean up the trash in the dressing room, because there is trash in there. You have to weed out the weeds, and that’s not his fault.
“He has to create his winning team, but it takes time. Liverpool have gone 30 years without winning the Premier League, so it’s not that fantastic anywhere. This will take time.”
Some have left permanently while others were loaned up but still, it was an improvement on previous windows.
There’s no doubt the club should’ve done better in terms of recruiting but it’s a start given the circumstances.
Fans will now have to remain patient and allow Solskjaer to work much in the same way his predecessors did.
