The latest Aston Villa injury news
Villa could be without as many as four players for the Monday night clash, according to PremierInjuries.com.
Jonathan Kodjia is expected to miss the game with a head injury, while summer signing Trezeguet is suspended for the game after being sent off against Crystal Palace.
James Chester and Matt Targett are both closing in on returns from thigh injuries, but it is understood that Monday could come too soon for both players as they look to build up their fitness.
The latest West Ham injury news
West Ham have two players currently ruled out through injury.
Winston Reid is expected to return towards the end of the month following a knee injury, while Michail Antonio is set for a few months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The pundit says
Dean Smith’s side are currently 18th in the Premier League having won just one of their opening four fixtures.
Now they face the tough test of taking on West Ham United, who has started their season in impressive fashion, dropping just five points and climbing to seventh in the standings.
But Nicholas has been impressed by what he has seen at Villa Park this season, especially from midfield duo Jack Grealish and John McGinn.
“Aston Villa have improved, but if they are playing at home, they need Grealish to play 10-15 yards higher up the pitch, I keep saying it,” said Nicholas.
“He is a pass master, but you want it in the opposition half and not near or on the halfway line. The combination of him and McGinn is difficult for anyone to control.
“I like Wesley up front and I like what Villa have at the moment.”
