Tamworth FC’s Danylyszyn on developing a ‘winning mentality’
Tamworth FC joint boss Andrew Danylyszyn believes the squad have momentum and are beginning to develop a winning mentality.
Back-to-back cup victories over Nuneaton Borough and Barwell have given the Lambs five wins from six ahead of Saturday’s home league game with Redditch.
And Danylyszyn said: “As a club you have got to strive for a winning mentality.
“For example, at Manchester City, there’s that winning mentality.
“What you see at a club like that, with the culture they have brought in, is they go for it in the league, the League Cup, FA Cup, every competition available.”
“If you breed that mentality within the players, what it does is create a competition through the squad with lads wanting to get in to the team, wanting to play games.
“I am seeing that among the group. The appetite, hunger and desire to win.
“The mindset of players is really pleasing me right now. They are going to take every competition seriously.”
Danylyszyn expects Redditch to provide a stiff test for his in-form side this Saturday, 3pm, but says if the Lambs approach the game in the right manner they can add to their win tally.
“Redditch have some very good young players,“ he said.
“They will be well drilled. They are technically good and their managing of the ball will be good. Our pitch will suit them down to the ground.”
“We won’t take them lightly and will prepare exactly as we have been. We need to be up for it and be mindful of what they do.
“But if out lads continue to show the work ethic and desire they have been, it will carry them through.”
Danylyszyn, meanwhile, has heaped praise on young right back Rashaan Frances for his recent performances.
“He’s grown in stature and become a man,” said Danylyszyn.
“His one-to-one defending is excellent and he’s listening to guys like Jas Singh and Joe Magunda.
“If he keeps his feet on the ground he has serious chances of progressing in the game.”
Tamworth also travel to Barwell on Tuesday night.
