Funny Joe Hart fail spotted by eagle-eyed fan in Kompany Man City testimonial
Joe Hart made his return to the Etihad on Wednesday night – but he appears to have changed significantly since last representing Manchester City.
The goalkeeper was between the sticks for Man City Legends as they drew 2-2 with Premier League All Stars in Vincent Kompany’s testimonial.
Martin Petrov put City ahead early on before Robbie Keane equalised.
Robin van Persie also put one past Hart with a super strike from long range.
But Benjani’s header with minutes to go earned City a draw in the friendly which raised money for Tackle4MCR.
The charity was set up by Kompany alongside Great Manchester Mayor Andy Turnham to help tackle homelessness within the city.
And the event proved a huge success with fans flocking to the Etihad during the international break.
The game was also broadcast on Sky Sports, but there was one hilarious moment which one Newcastle United fan spotted that nobody else did.
Prior to kick off, Hart and his Man City Legends team-mates lined up to celebrate the event and money raised for charity.
In doing so, the ex-City keeper held up a young mascot above a banner.
And amazingly, a still image capturing the heartwarming moment looks like Hart’s arms have shrunk in the wash!
The post on social media was captioned: “No wonder Pep forced Joe Hart out of city! Look at the size of his hands #VincentKompany #MCFC”.
The tweet has earned almost 17,000 likes and fans were left in hysterics at the funny fail.
Hart’s suddenly tiny hands perhaps helps to explain his fall from grace since being axed by Pep Guardiola.
The two-time Premier League winner and ex-England No.1 lost his place in City’s side before being loaned to Torino in a flop spell in Italian football before enduring a torrid time at West Ham too.
He is now at Burnley but Premier League game time is still hard to come by as Nick Pope is prioritised by Sean Dyce even with the sale of Tom Heaton to Aston Villa this summer.
