Birmingham City set for boost as doubts swirl over Charlton Athletic key man
Charlton’s star striker Lyle Taylor is a doubt for Saturday’s game with Birmingham City .
The striker has scored five goals in the Addicks’ first six Championship matches this season and is very much the team’s talisman.
He was away with the Montserrat national team during the international break and played in their CONCACAF Nations League win over the Dominican Republic on Saturday.
However, he returned early to the UK after picking up a knock and missed the 1-1 draw with Saint Lucia on Tuesday.

That leaves Lee Bowyer with a headache.
“Lyle came back with a bit of a knock. We’ve put him in a brace which is just a precaution,” Bowyer said.
“But we’ll be looking to get him back out on the pitch tomorrow. Hopefully he comes through that ok and be available for Saturday.”
Taylor, noted for his nonchalant penalty approach has scored 30 goals in 51 appearances for Charlton since moving from AFC Wimbledon in 2018.
If he doesn’t play could be replaced by for Brighton attacker Tomer Hemed or West Brom loan youngster Jonathan Leko.
Blues are definitely without Jefferson Montero but are hopeful Jacques Maghoma will be available.
