Vincent Kompany ruled out of his own testimonial – reason why revealed
Vincent Kompany has been ruled out of his own testimonial match through injury.
Kompany, 33, will bid farewell to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening following his departure at the end of last season.
A team of Manchester City legends will face a Premier League All-Stars XI in what should be an entertaining 90 minutes of football.

“It’s a celebration to say goodbye and I don’t have to be on the pitch. It’s for an unbelievable cause.”
The proceeds from tonight’s game are going Tackle4Mcr, the initiative Kompany set up with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, to address rough sleeping and homelessness on the streets of our city.
The friendly match will see a host of Manchester United players in the Premier League All-Star team including Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs.
Kompany said: “We’ve got our differences it’s clear but if we can get together for these type of events it makes us stronger.”
