Chelsea Manager Frank Lampard.

Young full-back Reece James has returned to the training field with Chelsea down on numbers in defence.

The 19-year-old, who was expected to feature regularly this season under Lampard, damaged his ankle ligaments representing England at the Toulon Tournament and was resided to crutches.

But now he is free of those crutches and has returned to training at the club’s Cobham Training Ground.

However, it remains unlikely that the former Wigan loanee will play a part at Molineux, with Azpilicueta the obvious first choice.
