Tottenham star Danny Rose opens up on transfer speculation and his future | Football | Sport
Tottenham defender Danny Rose suggested that his future is at the Lilywhites, even after their signing of Ryan Sessegnon.
Rose had been tipped to leave Spurs this summer, and had been linked with a host of European clubs.
But with Spurs linked with a move for Fulham wondered Sessegnon throughout the summer, it seemed that Rose’s future could have been away from north London.
But Rose remained at the club, and has played every minute of Spurs’ Premier League campaign so far this season in place of the injured Sessegnon.
“It wasn’t tough, it is what it is,” he said about the speculation over his future.
“Everything that was publicised in the summer was not entirely true and I think in the future I will have my say on everything that happened but I don’t want to focus on negativity at the minute.
“I can’t lie, I am very happy, but I just want to say that everything that was written in the summer wasn’t entirely true.”
He did, however, admit that he was on the market this summer, and didn’t seem completely nonplussed that Spurs were shopping him.
“I obviously just want to repay everybody that’s shown faith in me and it’s been a great start to the campaign and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.
“I guess I should be happy with maybe being up for sale and having started the first four games for Tottenham and the first England game of the campaign.”
Rose played 90 minutes in England’s 4-0 win over Bulgaria at Wembley on Saturday.
