Manchester United confirm Europa League squad for 2019/20 season
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been drawn into Group L for the European club competition and will face FC Astana, FK Partizan and AZ Alkmaar.
Young goalkeeper Matej Kovar has been named on the A list for the competition along with the likes of Anthony Martial and David de Gea.
United’s squad also consists of seven club trained players with Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Axel Tuanzebe amongst those to have come through the club’s illustrious academy system.
Summer signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are both named on the third section of the squad which consists of players trained at other English clubs.
Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong and James Garner are all notable absentees from the squad, however they do not need to be registered from the B list.
The B list contains an unlimited number of players and is made up of homegrown youngsters who can be called upon at anytime during the competition.
Speaking earlier in the summer United manager Solskjaer confirmed he would be looking to call upon the club’s youth contingent in Europe this season.
“We want to win this tournament of course,” he said.
“It’s a competition that we know a lot about, we won it a couple of years back and it can be a way into the Champions League for next season.
“It’s also a way that we can use the squad and some youngsters will play these games.
“We’ll just focus on when the games come and see where we’re at.”
