The five Fantasy Football bargains in Gameweek 3 after price drops
After just two games of the new Premier League season, some star players have seen their prices drop already and Starsport identifies the early bargains for FPL fans.
Jamie Vardy (£8.9)
Leicester take on newly promoted Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday with Vardy looking for his first goal of the season.
While the Foxes hitman drew a blank against both Wolves and Chelsea, he came close to winning it at Stamford Bridge and still looked as sharp as ever.
Vardy is bound to start picking up points very soon, especially with the top creativity behind him in the form of James Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Youri Tielemans.
The Blades kept Crystal Palace at bay last weekend but Vardy and Co may prove too strong, with the Leicester man now available for just £8.9 after his price drop.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£6.4)
Liverpool’s midfielders are vying for a regular place in the first XI.
And Jurgen Klopp revealed at the weekend he expects Oxlade-Chamberlain to play a big role in Liverpool’s season.
Following his return from long-term injury, the attacking midfielder is desperate to make up for lost time and started for the Reds in their 2-1 win at Southampton on Saturday.
If he continues to get game time, points will tot up for the Ox, who now costs £6.4.
Felipe Anderson (£6.9)
West Ham are poised to welcome back Brazilian star Anderson for the trip to Watford on Saturday.
The winger missed their 1-1 draw at Brighton due to a small muscle injury he picked up in the Hammers’ first game – a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The game at Vicarage Road poses a real chance for West Ham to pick up their first win given the Hornets haven’t scored a goal yet.
Anderson, now valued at £6.9, should have Sebastien Haller and Manuel Lanzini alongside him in attack too, so chances will come either for the former Lazio man or via him.
Christian Eriksen (£8.9)
Tottenham have managed to keep hold of Eriksen in the summer transfer window thus far.
And Mauricio Pochettino now needs to get the best back out of his key playmaker, who is likely to line up for Spurs against Newcastle.
Steve Bruce’s men were far from a threat at Norwich and Tottenham will smell blood this Sunday.
And Eriksen could be worth investing in following his drop to £8.9.
Bernardo Silva (£7.9)
Many FPL fans believed Silva would be a guaranteed starter under Pep Guardiola at the start of the season, especially after Leroy Sane’s serious knee injury in the Community Shield.
But while he was benched for their opener at West Ham, Silva started on the right wing for City at home to Spurs.
And the workhorse impressed at the weekend, meaning it is likely he will retain his place in the side ahead of Riyad Mahrez to face Bournemouth.
Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne are undroppable at present but are expensive options in Fantasy Football, meaning Silva’s drop to £7.9 makes him all the more tempting as a focal point in City’s attack.
